We are a subscription service where we curate and decide on new recipes every week worldwide and send the groceries required to your doorstep fresh and green.
What is a sustainable eating culture?
For people who can and wants to, we want them to have 0 impact on mother earth from their eating practice. We call this sustainable eating culture.
It is a revolution we are targeting to achieve. The timeline points below show how we are planning to get there this in a phased manner.
- By 2022 May, We will have 0 wastage from our packaging. If we can't use nature-friendly packaging for some reason, we will make sure we will collect it back to recycle.
- By 2023 December, all our products should be ZBNF (Zero Budget naturally farmed), and they are much better than Organic when it comes to sustainability.
- By 2025 September, We will be 100% carbon-neutral. We will calculate our carbon emissions from procurement to delivery and plant enough trees to offset our carbon footprint.
- By 2027 September, We will have our farm where we make sure we grow things in the right way and not just rely on Organic or ZBNF certificates from other organizations :-).
What should I expect when I subscribe to your service?
Once you subscribe, we will deliver cooking kits weekly based on the preference you have selected.
These cooking kits should have most things that are required to make a great meal. We will include all vegetables, spices, fruits, and other edible ingredients in exact proportions.
We also send easy-to-cook step-by-step instructions in the recipe card (also accessible online) to help you get it right.
Are the vegetables and other ingredients organically sourced?
We strive hard to source ZBNF (Naturally farmed) agri-produce. If we can't source naturally grown, we will fall back to organically sourced. If we are unable to source both naturally grown and organically grown, we might send regular produce. In anyways we will label our products and inform you if we can't provide organic products.
Do I get to choose what I eat?
BeetBeans is like Karma; you get to eat what you deserve :-P. The primary commitment of BeetBeans is to break from routine and mundane
eating and give an option to try something new every week. So the choice you have to choose from is very limited to recipes of the week we curate for that week.
I liked the Pasta you shipped last week. May I get to reorder?
BeetBeans is not a typical meal-kit or groceries service, so you can't repeat orders from us.
But, if you really enjoyed something and feel not enough and want to cook that again, you have good news. We don't have a secret sauce.
All our ingredients are open, some of them might be expensive and not readily available in the market, but BeetBeans won't create a secret hidden sauce.
So you must be able to get it from the market or import it from its country of origin.
Do you process / pre-cook anything before sending it to us?
Not always. We generally send only raw ingredients without any additional processing or cooking. However, we might pre-mix some spices/masalas that go together to make cooking easier.
Some groceries are pre-made primarily by default in the original recipe (for Example, noodles) and we send such ingredients readily prepared as is.
What is the shelf-life of the meal kits?
Shelf life varies based on the ingredients we supply.
Shelf life varies based on the ingredients we supply. Since we provide everything mostly raw,
refer to the shelf life of individual vegetables and groceries to determine the shelf life.
In most cases we prefer you cook the dinner within four days of delivery.
What is the frequency and timings of delivery of meal kits?
Weekly if subscribed, unless you skip. One time if you order.
Do you repeat recipe(s)?
No, not for a year. We want you to have a FOMO if you cancel your subscription.
How do you accept payment?
We have two types, subscription and trial (order). Subscription is what we prefer, and we deduct from your payment method weekly when we ship, and it is all automated. If you skip the subscription for any week for any reason, we won't deduct anything for that week. There are no commitments for a subscription; you can cancel it even after one delivery. In the trial, you get to pay once, and we deliver the following recipe for you to try. Trials are 25% more expensive than a subscription, So create a subscription and cancel after the first delivery. If you forget, we will notify you one day before we ship it to you and remind you to cancel.
I am out of the city or bored to cook this week. Can I skip?
Yes, it is effortless to skip with just one button for any week. We will also notify you before shipping so that you can cancel.
What are the refund policies?
We don't charge your payment method unless we ship it to you. For some unfortunate reason, if there were quality issues in the groceries we delivered, we will try to work with you on that, and in most cases, we will issue a refund.
When can I expect a refund?
We will issue an instant refund, but it can take anywhere between 3-7
days based on the bank and payment method used to reflect in your bank.
How do we assure the quality of the ingredients?
Please make sure you don't keep the vegetables we deliver outside refrigeration for long after we deliver. As soon as we deliver, please move things that require refrigeration to the refrigerator.
What is the cancellation procedure for my subscription?
